The Zarlequan Calendar — Why I Made It

Midnight-blue background with a hand-drawn Glassen Fires sigil. It says "Zarlequan 13-month calendar-handdrawn moon sigil 2026"

I just finished the Zarlequan calendar.

And honestly… this has been in me for a while.

Time has never felt right to me.
Like the way we live, everything is rushed, disconnected, and kind of forced. We’re supposed to show up the same way every day, every month, all year… and that’s just not how I experience life at all.

(I made this beautiful cover and couldn’t add it to the finished calendar because I have 13 months and it only offered 12 months with a cover)

Some days I have energy. Some days I don’t.
Some seasons I feel creative. Some I need to go inward.

So I started thinking… what if time wasn’t something we had to keep up with?
What if it actually moved with us?

What This Calendar Is

It’s a 13-month calendar.

Each month has 28 days, and the year starts on March 21.
So it follows a more natural rhythm, closer to the cycles we actually feel.

And then there’s one day that isn’t part of any month:

The Day of Remembrance.

It’s just… a pause.
A moment to breathe and look back before starting again.

The Part I Love Most

Each month has its own energy.

And I don’t mean that in a complicated way, I just mean, you know how different times of the year feel different?

Like there are times you want to create.
Times you want to clean things up.
Times you feel more emotional.
Times you feel powerful.

I leaned into that.

So each month has a theme and an archetype. Not to box you in, but to help you notice where you are.

For example:

  • there’s a Phoenix month for new beginnings
  • a Fire Serpent month that’s quieter, more internal
  • a Golden Stag month that feels warm and reflective

It’s more like… a guide than a rule.

Why I Actually Made This

I didn’t make this to be “different” or aesthetic.

I made it because I don’t want to live in a constant state of pressure anymore.

And I don’t think we’re meant to.

I think we’re meant to move in cycles.
To rest sometimes.
To rise sometimes.
To not feel behind all the time.

If This Is You

If you’ve ever felt like:

  • you can’t keep up
  • you’re doing things at the wrong time
  • or you just want something that feels more aligned…

this might feel really good to you.

It’s Up Now

I put it up on my site.

If you end up using it, I’d actually love to hear how it feels for you, like what shifts, what you notice.

Because for me, this isn’t really about a calendar.

It’s about living in a way that feels a little more… natural.
