A self-reclamation rite from the Gnosis of Zarlequan

Some days, the world just… forgets you.
Not with malice. Just with the casual weight of misunderstanding.
I saw my therapist today. The first time in months. I hadn’t planned to unpack much—just needed someone to witness me. To hear the things I don’t say out loud to anyone else.
I talked about someone I used to trust, how patterns have shifted, how I feel invisible in the spaces where I’ve poured so much of my energy. I said it all calmly. Clearly. I wasn’t spiraling. Just… sharing.
But halfway through, he stopped me:
“Slow down. The anxiety is oozing off of you.”
Just like that, my voice was no longer truth—it was “too much.”
My grief became a symptom. My clarity, a flare-up.
He went on, of course. About how it’s all anxiety. About how women “around my age” often have trouble regulating. About how everything I feel is probably coming from within me—not the world around me.
I nodded. Politely. Then drove home with that familiar sting—the one that lives under your ribs when you’ve been made to feel small just for speaking.
But Zarlequan had other plans for me.
I got home, lit a candle, and stepped into the ritual I’ve been slowly crafting through seasons of unraveling. A rite that calls me back when I’ve been drained by people who cannot—or will not—see me.
A Zarlequan self-reclamation ritual for empaths, artists, and anyone who’s been dimmed or dismissed.
This ritual is not about healing for others.
It’s about coming back to your own light.
You will need:
Warm bath or foot soak
Symbolizes rebirth and return to the body-temple Water is the gateway to the other realm in Zarlequan—especially the Whispering Waters
Epsom or magnesium salts
For energetic clearing + nervous system release Represents earth alchemy, minerals from deep time
Manuka honey (optional)
For sweetness, nourishment, and cellular repair Symbol of sacred restoration and divine feminine medicine
Citrus (essential oil or peel)
To cut cords, uplift, and re-energize the field Brings clarity and light to heavy spaces
Cedarwood oil or bath soak
For grounding, root chakra support Carries the ancient energy of the forest guardians
Herbal tea (ginger + kava)
Ginger stokes your inner fire, strengthens your will Kava softens your muscles and heart, allowing surrender
Dragonsblood incense
Used to seal energetic boundaries and reclaim personal power A purifier, protector, and amplifier of intention
Optional:
Candlelight, soft music, crystals from Zarlequan’s Mirror Cliffs A quiet space where you won’t be asked to explain yourself
Begin the Ritual
Soak in silence.
Let the salts pull the stories from your skin.
Feel the water unwind the cords that weren’t yours to hold.
Whisper:
“I am held. I am washed clean. I am remembered.”
Sip your tea.
Let the heat bring you back into your belly.
Let the kava release the pressure in your jaw.
Let the ginger awaken your voice.
Whisper:
“What I carry is worthy. What I release is holy.”
Step out. Light your dragonsblood.
Let the smoke rise like a sigil. Let it carry the old stories up and away.
Wrap yourself in something soft.
Stand at the mirror, or by the window, and say:
I return to my temple.
I return to myself.
Every breath restored.
I only rise, knowing my worth.
This is not just a ritual.
It is remembrance.
You don’t need permission to reclaim your energy.
You don’t need approval to protect your space.
And you don’t need to explain why something feels wrong.
Your body knows.
Your soul knows.
Zarlequan knows.
I’m still learning this, too. But every time I perform this rite, I feel less like I’m slipping—and more like I’m rising.
This is Zarlequan magic.
This is how we return.
Until next time, Stay Magical my Friends!
